As an experienced copyeditor and proofreader, I ensure that writing is free from errors in grammar, syntax, punctuation, and spelling, and that it is clear and logically consistent. I am well versed in Chicago Manual of Style, APA and MLA guidelines. Substantive Editing: In substantive editing, I focus on larger issues of organization, clarity, and consistency, as well as research and fact-checking. The goal is to make sure that the author's writing is as strong and effective as possible. Developmental Editing: As a developmental editor, I work collaboratively with authors over a longer period of time, helping shape an idea, rough draft, or outline into a completed manuscript. |
